# List bank codes

> Look up the bank code to use in refund_account.institution before creating an NGN bank transfer order.

Returns the banks you can reference in `refund_account.institution` when creating an NGN order. It's the same list the off-ramp API uses for NGN recipients, so a code that works here also works there.

## Endpoint

Requires the `onramp` scope.

## Query parameters

The list changes rarely. It's safe to cache on your side for an hour.

## Errors

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `400` | Unsupported `currency` |
| `403` | Key lacks the `onramp` scope or onramp is not enabled on your account |
| `502` | The list couldn't be loaded. Retry shortly |
